  29. A while ago, I asked if anyone else had experienced a similar problem:
  30. installing AMCAF 1.50 beta4(from our lovely web site;)) tromps on my original
  31. AMOSPro help files, and renders the online help useless. Fortunately, this
  32. had happened before (when I installed v1.44) and so I remembered to backup
  33. the help files, and the help_map, so I can readily restore the help files
  34. with a couple of renames, but I'd really like the AMCAF online help too. How
  35. do I sort this out??
  36. The only response I got was that I should've used my original AMOSPro disks to
  37. copy AMCAF to. This doesn't seem to make much sense, particularly in an
  38. otherwise excellently designed and implemented extension. Any ideas??

  40. Question 2:
  41. Up until recently, I had been usiing the JDSkip$ command (from the JD
  42. Extension5.3) to strip unwanted spaces from strings quite effectively. Just a
  43. little while ago, though, this command also started stripping the trailing
  44. character too. , i.e.:
  45. A$=JDSkip$("Hello   ")
  46. previously would yield A$="Hello"
  47. Now *occasionally*, the same command
  48. A$=JDSkip$("Hello   ")
  49. yields
  50. A$="Hell"
  51. (which is rather appropriate I thought). Anyway, before I go back to my
  52. inefficient little piece of code which manually stripped spaces from the end
  53. of the strings, does anyone have any ideas about this one?
  54. What worries me, is that the only thing I think that I changed, is that I
  55. finally moved to the latest AMOS_Pro.library from the AMOS Factory website,
  56. could this be intermittently interfering with this? Better still, is there an
  57. AMCAF, or other extension command to do the same thing?
